Kodak ceases Kodachrome processing in Switzerland. Dwayne's
Photo in Kansas and the Horiuchi Color Lab in Tokyo are the
only two labs left.

It's a little ambiguous. But the release does contain this statement:

"Effective September 30, 2006, Kodak will discontinue all Kodachrome
processing activities at its photo processing lab in Renens,
Switzerland due to low volumes."

Note that it says ALL Kodachrome processing activities.

It appears to apply to all Kodachrome - the web page above is in the
/motion/
section of Kodak's web site. I can't find one in the pro site, hard to find
the
pro silver photography site at all starting from kodak.com - from the home
page
you would swear they never heard of film.

Also see the bottom of the Kodachrome page on wikipedia.

It seems Renens, CH is closing down in September.

That's right. From October all Kodachrome film purchased in Europe
will need to be sent to the USA for processing.

middle of page as this line.

More detail on the processing of Kodak's Kodachrome 35mm slide film can be
found under a separate press release specific to that marketplace.

searched for 35mm processing and found this, a June 30, 2006 Announcement
from Kodak
http://www.kodak.com/US/en/motion/ab...essingQA.jhtml

Q5: Why is Kodak still honoring its obligation to process its
Kodachrome 35mm PCI product -- but not 16mm or S8?
A5: Kodak is still manufacturing and selling its Kodachrome 35mm
slide film, and is therefore still actively engaged in the processing of
that product. Conversely, we have exited the Kodachrome motion picture
portfolio, and have announced the end dates to Kodak processing for those
product lines -- giving customers at least six months lead time in which to
submit their film to Kodak for processing

Q7: Does Kodak have plans to exit the Kodachrome 35mm slide
business?
A7: Sales of Kodachrome 35mm slide film continue. That being
said, Kodak is constantly evaluating its product portfolio -- both digital
and traditional -- to ensure that it is consistent with market demands.

So it is only 8mm and 16mm motion picture film.

God help the Europeans......I recommend learning how to do it yourself. - We
are raising a new generation of incompetents over here......Digital
photography has barely arrived in the nick of time......

Ah, if one could. The processing of Kodachrome film is fiendishly
complex; I can't imagine an individual attempting it, even if the
materials were available..
