Displaying Date on picture w/Canon A80

I can't seem to display the date on the image using this camera. I
had no problem with my A75 that I exchanged for the A80. I want to
have the date displayed on the pic so it will show when it is
processed by my local photo lab.

Any ideas (yes, I RTFM)?

I think you just can't do it. Most digital cameras do not have a
function to "stamp" the date into the image data, because it damages the
image for some purposes and because the date and time is always stored in
the non-visible EXIF header data. If you're viewing the images on a
computer, you can look up the date. If you want to print copies of the
image with the date embedded, there is software that will do it for you
(and you can probably set it to print the info in the border outside the
image area).

So, there's little need for a digital camera to do this, and the A75 is
the first Canon camera I've heard of doing it. I don't think the A80
will.
