I have three different editions. About four years ago I got the
"Original Scroll" edition which Kerouac typed on a single unbroken roll
of teletype paper using his "stream of consciousness" method. I thought
there might be something interesting in the original which might have
been edited from the mainstream releases.

It is almost unreadable in that original format. Without editing and
proper typesetting I doubt that it would ever have made it beyond
legendary rumor.

I must say my initial Kerouac library was accumulated between 1965 and
1972 and I was able to escape in them like a true refugee of the 60's.
