Just make sure it's insured first.

Look at the Olympus E-1 pictures halfway down the thread. I've seen
this done myself.

I believe that he is referring to the pictures of the guy washing his
camera in the sink to clean it. This seems a little bit
unconventional. I'm not sure if I would do it.

Only a moron would try this with a Canon since even the 1D series are only
weather resistant:
http://www.usa.canon.com/consumer/co...14999&pageno=3.

The Oly E1 is spec'd to be splashproof:
http://www.olympusamerica.com/e1/fea...components.asp.

You do know the difference, right? Don't let the facts get in the way.

Yes. Difference is Canon cheaped out on $5000 and $8000 cameras.

Rich, a simple question please..... and it deserves a simple
answer.....

What is your axe to grind with Canon? Where did it come from?

Put aside the spin and the elaborate BS about engineering and customer
concern..... What's your REAL beef? Did Canon fire you at some point
in the past? Did they fire your father? What is it that makes you hate
Canon so badly.

And if you come back with some elaborate BS about your innate goodness
and their overwhelming evilness you are getting the PLONK!!!

So those that want a splashproof camera can look somewhere else, pretty
simple really. Nowhere does Canon advertise splash- or weatherprof cameras.

Little Richie was once sodomized with a 400L 5.6. While he has since come
to enjoy
the experience, it still left a bad taste in his mouth.

Interesting annology. However, I might point out that Don Quichote de
la Mancha had honor and character.

Canon should be totally ashamed of this (and some others too) HP got this basic and absolutely essential thing right in their little digicam that's cheap even for a P&S, so why can't Canon?!! Yes, I know, there's more to the Canon 20D, but w Mike Henley Digital Photography 58 December 15th 04 06:21 PM
