Default Is APS dead?

Just curious, since sales of standard 35mm film are plummeting, sales of
APS film and cameras should be very low by now. Anybody has some
statistics?

I'm sure its on its way to join 126, 110 and those silly little
disc cameras. I did miss the 127 format for a while after its demise,
even though there weren't many good camera made for it.

I think Kodak and the other film companies stopped making APS cameras
and film at least two years ago. I imagine that if you google for "APS
photography" you can find information on this subject.

Is Kodak still making any kind of film cameras these days?

Hello Alfred.

Boots still sell 200ASA APS print film.
I have Canon and Minolta APS SLR bodies and will continue to use them until
the film isn't available.
The Minolta goes with me on a daily basis; the Canon will be in my gadget
bag with my 350D.

BTW - did you also post to rec.photo.equipment.aps?

Best wishes, Ian.

Nope, because it's actually not so important. I was just curious.

Whether it is important or not, it has very little to do with
rec.photo.digital

Hello, Sally:

Only the disposable variety, I believe.

Greetings Sally,

Kodak continues to offer Single Use cameras in the 35mm format and, of
course, APS film as well. You should be able to find APS film in most chain
or drug stores. For more on film camera types etc. go to the following URL.
If you have a particular need I will try to help as well.

I had the Canon Elph APS. It was a great small camera, but the APS film
and processing was very expensive.

I went back to have some of the APS cartridges scanned to CDs, and to
get prints made, and it was very convenient to not deal with strips of
negatives.

I think that the decision to charge such a premium for film and
processing doomed it even before digital doomed it.
