Default Can Photoshop 7 edit 16-bit/channel images?

I currently have Photoshop 6 and when I try to edit a 16-bit/channel image,
it won't let me do simply things, like apply filters. It says it's not
supported with 16-bit images. Can you do all editing on a 16-bit image in
PS 7?

So is CS currently the top version of Photoshop? I'd find that

surprising,
considering it's only $150.

Neal

150 bucks? in europe here it costs 1.300 euros ~ 1.500 bucks...

LOL! Where are you finding THAT price? I can assure you it is in no
way legitimate. Even the upgrade (assuming one is not a thief) is more
than $150!
I am sure you can find it cheaper than that if you do not care about
piracy. I am sure one can find it for free.

Uh, then is the upgrade only $150? I went to Adobe's site and now I
understand that CS is like Photoshop 8. I had been thinking it was like the
older Photoshop LE.
