Any Kiev4 experts (adjustment of rangefinder)?

The Kiev4A (without lightmeter on top) is quite easy to take off the front
cover
and adjust the rangefinder. But the Kiev4 with the lightmeter on top seems
to be
a bit more difficult. I wonder if the top cover should be removed before the
font
cover can come off without to many troubles........?

Anybody tried this?
