Nikon / Epson Rebate
Has anyone received their rebate from Nikon/Epson deal offered around
Christmas time? I bought a D50 and the Printer was supposed to be "Free" of course you had to pay for the printer and apply for a rebate. Over 8 weeks and Still no rebate on this end... Checked with Epson Yesterday, no record of my submission. I faxed copies of my submissions. What a pain, considering that I didn't even need the printer, but took the deal because it was "free". Is this the usual routine from what are supposed to be reliable companies? Rina |

They emailed me the status of the rebate. It is processed and should be on the way. What I'm getting at is that it can take months. It can be a good deal if you can live without the $$ for awhile. Although an annoyance, I submit every offer I get and I have gotten all the rebate money back. As long as you have followed the instructions, legible writing, correct address and submitted all the paperwork, you should receive the rebate. Many years back there were companies screwing people out of rebates and there were lawsuits so rebates are typically no longer a problem. On a side note. Years ago, I was asked to participate in a 45 minute survey concerning data tape backup hardware. I was to receive $35 for my time (not bad hourly pay). Never saw the money. They said they never received the survey. It was returned in a pre-labeled envelope. After 500 eBay sales and years of mailing bills through the USPS, nothing ever got lost. Chances are, I got screwed. -S no i have not gotten mine back yet either. i did get my 50.00 on back for the lenses i got from nikon though |

Nikon / Epson Rebate
I'm quite familiar with the rebate process. The rebate said up to 8 weeks...
It's been 9 weeks since I submitted, so figured it was time to start checking. Got a bit concerned when no record of my submission was found... This is $150. that I'm waiting for! I am told to expect a 3 month wait for my money. I was at the point of going to the shop to look at the 5D. Then I read there is a £200 rebate on the camera. It has stopped me going to the shop - perverse you may think, but the hoops you have to jump through for a rebate seem nonsensical. Why can't they just give me £200 discount in the shop? I did write to Canon with this question but had no reply. Can anyone explain the advantage of rebate over shop discount? (besides the certainty that some cutsomers can't be bothered to claim their rebate). John |
