Mamiya 6 film drag
Isn't the spindle that pays out film supposed to have some drag on it, to
ensure that the take up spool is wound tight? I sent mine in to have the viewfinder adjusted, and now that I've got it back it seems like the film is just about flying off the spool. So much so, that I hold my thumb on it to create a little drag when I start a new roll, otherwise it's loose on the take up side right from the get go (not that this has caused any problems yet). And the spacing between frames is all quite even, so I don't think the winder mechanism is bad per se. I first thought they simply lubricated it when servicing the viewfinder so that it seems more fluid, but now I'm beginning to wonder. Thanks. -- Regards, Matt Clara www.mattclara.com |
