The America I love and respect lost. Sorry to hear your vision of
American involves treating others in a way we should never allow our
citizens to be treated. It also hints that even our citizens may be striped
of their rights if one man things so.

I'm not going to say that I agree with all aspects of so-called "domestic
spying" but a good yardstick of what is sensible is to see what the ACLU
stands for and then go in the other direction.

What "rights"? The "right" to sue the government because you think you may
have been wiretapped, though you have no evidence of it? The "right" to
demand that government agencies expose all their covert counterterrorism
procedures?

The suit seems ridiculous on its face -- another bit of ACLU looniness. All
of us (except terrorists) should be relieved that the silly thing was thrown
out.

Wire tapping without a warrant is illegal. If the Attorney General won't
bring charges, what recourse do Americans have to force the President of the
United States to obey the law?

I suggest reading the novel "The R Document" by Irving Wallace. The
predictions the author made back in 1976(!!!) are just stunning when
compared to recent developments.

Or "1984", written in 1948 by George Orwell.

I didn't think anyone could be stupider than Bush until I read this thread.
I guess Cheney has his hand up the butt of more than one dummy.

And when the people who are charged with enforcing the laws do so by
breaking the law, the whole thing falls apart.
