Trying to save on costs i guess, but mirrorless with their exposed sensors
really do need some kind of cleaning.
Good sensor cleaning is great, not having to clean Olympus or Panasonic
sensors very often, but having to at least brush Pentax and Nikon DSLR
sensors on a regular basis because they lacked sensor cleaning, or effective
cleaning.

Naah! It is part of the retro philosophy.

Nikon is just returning to the days of the D70 which did not have sensor
cleaning, and was a veritable dust magnet. That camera forced me to learn how
to wet clean sensors, and to never fear the procedure.

Since the D70 I have never owned a DSLR, or MILC which does not have sensor
cleaning A Z50 without sensor cleaning is a BIG mistake.

For now I will stick with my Fujis.

Minor typo there, it should read:
Not if all you are shooting is your iPhone.

i meant slrs.

i have a nikon slr with sensor cleaning and have never needed to use
it, which is fine since it's an unnecessary waste of time.

the d70 era sensors were dust magnets. more recent sensors are not.
