Point being? the point is that people buy new phones regardless of who makes it and for all sorts of reasons. why do you care so much about what others buy? I just like commenting on the mindsets of phone addicts. no you don't. you only comment when it involves apple, solely to bash. if you were commenting on phone addicts, you would have not singled out iphones and asked 'how many people will buy the new galaxy note 7', which by the way, costs *more* than a similar iphone. Even though most data plans (unless you are a HUGE consumer/spender) won't let you dump your old phone whenever you please so you have to actually PAY for a new one. nonsense. Fried of mine wanted a new phone for free because he lost his. everyone wants stuff for free. They told him it would cost him $300.00. His business costs (at the time) where running $500/month. He complained and they gave him the phone for nothing. Average user wouldn't get it. what they gave him is either a piece of **** phone that isn't worth much of anything or they folded the true cost into his monthly fees. it's not a free phone. |

Just giving you the background. Ireland is, if the above is true paying Apple for jobs by giving international preferred treatment visa-vi national companies. Apple has a long history in Cork but surely they could get the job done equally well in Scotland... From the linked article: "The European Commission is now questioning Irish tax authority rulings which allowed AOE and ASI to declare combined annual taxable profits of just 40 to 80 million euros in recent years. Those arrangements save Apple - the world's most valuable corporation - billions of dollars in tax each year, analysts said. Under EU rules, if the Commission's suspicion that the tax treatment amounted to illegal state aid is proven, the company could be forced to pay that money back to the Irish government. Apple paid an average tax rate of just 2.5 percent on around $109 billion of non-U.S. profits in the past five years - a fraction of Ireland's 12.5 percent tax rate" -- teleportation kills |
