Default Maximizing quality with color negatives

Has anyone done the following type of experiment?
Shoot 400 color negative rated at 200 vs. shooting 200 speed
film at 200.
Since overexposure decreases the grain in the shadows and
since the 400 negative shadows will be further up the tonality
curve they should have better shadow contrast as well.
This has to be offset against the inherently larger grain
and poorer color reproduction of the faster film.

A lot of people shoot 400 CN at 320 and 250 for that very reason.

I don't shoot print film too often but superia 400 shot at 320 will make
nice 11x14 enlargements.
