Default Sony problem

Hi all,
I know my camera isnt a SLR but i was hoping someone had run into
this before.
I have a 2 year old Sony P10 5.0 mege pixel camera and ive been
getting a dirt or smudge mark in all my shots in the upper right area
of the picture. Someone told me it might be the sensor inside is dirty
because the lens is clean. Is it possible to clean the sensor on this
camera, has anyone tried it before. I didnt want to open up the camera
and make it worse. Thanks for any input. (I can send you a picture as
an example if it would help.)

It is certainly unusual for a P&S to get dirt/dust on the sensor, mind you
it is certainly possible as there is some transfer of air as lenses are
zoomed It must go somewhere. If it was that much of a problem that the
camera is not usable then perhaps you could try, not sure if P&S cameras
have the same protection for their sensors that D-SLR's have so that may be
a problem.
