Default Some Maxxum 5D comments

I DL'd the brochure and spec sheet from K-M.

Negatives:
1. Mirror viewfinder (not pentaprism). If it's the same as in the
Maxxum 5, it is really not great for low light shooting.
(Considering it has anti-shake for low light shooting...)
2. No direct exp compensation controls (you need to select a function
wheel position and hold a button down to set comp)
3. No second control wheel. No big deal unless shooting
manual exposure.
4. Overall less direct control of photographic functions.
5. The display is just as large as 7D, but coarser
(115Kpix v207Kpix on 7D)

Positives:
1. Really the same camera as the 7D... just minimized.
made for light work, travel, etc.
2. Smaller. (about 350D size).

Cheers,
Alan.

It looks nice. Wish it had come out 18 months ago, I would have thought
twice about buying my Rebel. Love that 2.5" display.

2. Smaller. (about 350D size).

That's a HUGE step down from the 7D. I played with a 7D awhile back and
that thing must have been 5 times as big as my XT.

Toss on a vertical control grip and a Bigma lens and my hernia doc is
set for life! ;^)

I see the 7D as slightly smaller and lighter than my Maxxum 9.

It's all relative...

Cheers,
Alan.

When do they get a 8D or a 9D? :P I'll be the first to buy it. 7d is
close, but not close enough. But well, my 700si works fine for now.

Many of us salivating for the prospect of a 9D.

Really? What's the difference?
