Simple. By gluing a mosiac on top, then combining every 4 monochrome
pixels to get 1 color pixel. Same way all Bayer cameras do it.

Divide a Bayer camera's advertised monochrome MPs by 4 to get the
number of full color MPs. Sigma DSLRs are 13.72MP by the Bayer
standard.

Which demonstrates "preddy's" lack of understanding of the Bayer CFA and
demosaicing algorithms. Not surprising, though.
