Camera Bag for 10D
What camera bag are you guys using for the 10D with a couple of lens? The
typicals seem toooo tight once I put the 17-40mm on the camera. After that I couldn't really get anything else (other lens) in my bag. Jimmy |

You might try a Tamrac 515 with the modular side holsters added for
spare lenses. Works with my 300D with 28-135 IS (even 100-300) attached; as I recall the 17-40 is the same length but does have a bigger nose. 10D is a tad larger, too. The case has a large pocket with space for spare batteries, memory cards, etc. Another case is the LowePro TLZ 1. It is a bit larger inside and has no side case provisions -- tho there is a LowePro system which does. Phil Jimmy Smith wrote: What camera bag are you guys using for the 10D with a couple of lens? The camera fits well with the kit lens, with room for several other lenses (the 75-300 looks lonely in there). Bill Funk Change "g" to "a" |

Camera Bag for 10D
I LOVE my Lowepro Nova 4. Put my D70 with two lenses & other stuff in it.
Lots of pockets & a VERY comfortable strap. Had it for 5 years with no visible wear. |

I'm using a Tamrac "System 6" model 5606. http://www.tamrac.com/5606.htm Nearly every day I use it to carry ... -Canon 10D -28-135 IS lens (72mm) -70-300 lens (with a 62mm to 72mm adaptor) -72mm Lens hood for both of the above -72mm Circular polarizer -Miscl lens cleaning supplies -Small trashbag and several ziplock baggies and rubberbands (for rainproofing) -Cell Phone -iPAQ pocket PC -Extra memory cards, batteries, battery packs, etc. -Sometime I also take the EX420 flash -Vosonic 2030 portable drive (to dump memory cards to) -asthma inhailer -various ID etc. I've found this bag to be comfortable to carry, easy to access, and pretty water resistant (wouldn't call it waterproof though!) My redibag/holster/whatever is a Tamrac 519, which will take my D30, Sigma
17-35 and 50mm f1.8 or 15mm f2.8 fisheye, or my D30, 28-135 IS and 50mm f1.8, or my D30 and 100-400 IS and nothing else. My shoulder bag is a Domke J2, which will hold my D30, 100mm f2, 50mm f1.8, 28-135 IS and 15mm f2.8 fisheye, 1n, 540EZ flash, two walkie talkies, 6-8 rolls of film and assorted filters and batteries. The Tamrac is part of the "MACS" system, there are add on pouches that mount on the bag, externally, to hold extra lenses. -- Skip Middleton http://www.shadowcatcherimagery.com "Jimmy Smith" wrote in message ... It works really well, and fits the D70, three lenses, AC adaptor, filters, batteries etc. It also has room for my little Sony videocam along with all it power and connection cables etc.... Great bag - plenty of straps to hang tripods and stuff from. It also has a hidden rain cover than you can pull out and use if it really starts to pour down. |

I would just prefer it to be a tad larger though. but all in all, very useful and functional. I carry a Bogen 282 monopod in a shoulder strapped case from Slik I think. do you carry a tripod and if so, do you sling it on your bag or carry it separately as I do mine?? thanks chas I hooked a pair of strings onto that front panel so I could drop it open one handed and it acts as a "shelf" of sorts. I always carry the bag on the left shoulder (as the 10D is a "right handed" camera) and have gotten very good at rummaging around in the bag with one hand. I like it's physical size as I do a lot of moving around on the Washington DC metro (trains, bus, etc) so I'm often in crowds and a smaller bag is more maneuverable (plus it keeps me from carrying too damn much stuff). By the same token I hardly ever take a tripod with me. On the occasions that I do I either use an ultrapod II http://www.pedcopods.com/products.htm which is easily packed in the bag, or I carry my Manfrotto 724B which has a nice carry bag that I sling over my other shoulder.
