Executive summary:
Someone wants to have his google ads viewed. (Spammer?)
The content is, ah, of dubious quality. Think "redneck politican
explaining the internet --- in 1996": no understanding, no
experience, just parrotting what others said, and mangling the
information.

Details:

| Viewfinder: Low-end digital cameras provide an optical
| viewfinder while more expensive ones replace the viewfinder
| with a LCD (Liquid Crystal Display). Look towards purchasing
| one with an LCD display.

I really really love my "low end" DSLR.

| With a fixed-focus lens everything from a few feet to
| infinity is in focus. The only problem with this is when
| shooting pictures up close.

Interesting, there is no problem at night ...

| Autofocus will automatically bring whatever is in the centre of
| the viewfinder into focus.

Ah, yes, there is only the center AF point, ever, and it can
focus things right on the lens, too --- always. Oh, and it
works in total darkness.

| Compression: If you want the highest possible image quality,
| look for a camera that will let you save pictures in "CCD raw
| mode" which means with no compression at all.

Oh, but they _are_ compressed. Loslessly, yes, but compressed.

And you cannot even print or view them without developing them
in some way, which is of course a completely minor point ...
which does not need to be mentioned.

[rechargeable batteries]
| There are three varieties of batteries available Nickel Cadmium
| (NiCad), Nickel-Metal Hydride (NiMH) and Lithium-ion (Li-ion
| or LiOn).

"Poof" make lithium-polymer cells all over the world, as they
cease to exist! (And of course: there is no difference
between them.)

| To save battery power, use a camera that accepts an AC
| adaptor.

How about "Choose a camera with a long battery life, and buy an
extra battery" instead? Or do power outlets follow you around?
|
| Interface: If you are interested in maximum speed you should
| keep your eyes open for cameras and card readers that support
| FireWire.

Bah. Interface download speed is irrelevant compared to shutter
lag.
Though there is a grain of salt in the Use a card reader (a
fast one by preference), and ignore whatever the camera offers.
The difference between real USB2 and firewire is negible.
Except that there are more computers with USB2.
