Default A Scrub Jay Today

It's just a Scrub Jay, but he is local and has an appetite for the suet feeder.

Very nice, good detail unlike the last hummer shot, which seemed lacking to
me. Glad to see the Fuji stuff works well sometimes

Nice photos, nice detail. How close were you? And were those with the
Fuji?

Thanks.

I was about 6 feet away, and it was shot with the X-E2 + XF55-200mm.
Scrub Jays aren't too squirrelly around people.

Nice portrait. he first seems a bit too contrasty.

I guess not - it looked like you must have been pretty close. I assume
that lens was wide open, but what is wide open on that?

We're in agreement on that to a point, but I think it might have been
enough to just bring the eye area up a bit in both photos. But I'm
once again looking on the wrong monitor for this sort of thing. All 3
of us might be seeing something different.

Not that wide open. The XF55-200mm is f/3.5-4.8, and if you check the
EXIF you will discover that it was shot at f/6.4, so it was stopped
down a tad, as I said, not that wide open.

Sigh...
You are a fine one to talk about "contrasty". Whatever that means to you?
