Default Cold weather and shutter

I've got a Compur Synchro shutter being CLAed right now. It worked fine
in warmer weather, but in cold weather, it was getting stuck.

The repair shop (it came highly recommended) is working on it, but she
says it keeps failing the "cold test". She hasn't given up yet however.

Would that be Carol? She knows what she's doing. If she CLAs it, and the
shutter is still off, then perhaps the shutter is worn out. Some
leaf-shutters wear out quickly if they are used a lot at their highest
speed.

Yes. My luck is that the shutter is wearing out...but it works perfectly
if it is 70 degrees or warmer! She did mention that the blades aren't in
the best of shape.

Ah, that's probably it then. A lot of use can mean weakened springs
and worn parts the both of which can result in less force available
to operate the shutter in cold weather. It is probably working on
it's last legs in warm weather and it may be time to look for that
90/Angulon [in shutter] with the 1/8" gouge in the front element
going for $12.99 on ebay.
