Lonely Planet is a reputable publishing company that publishes travel
guides and television programmes about travel.

From October 2007 Lonely Planet has been a wholly owned subsidiary of
BBC Worlwide, the commercial publishing offshoot of the BBC (British
Broadcasting Corporation).

They used to be Australian. What a shame that they sold out.

I agree... Though LP is now not what it was. The trouble with any set of
guides like theirs is as they get popular and expand the get corporate
and loose the thing that made them individual :-(
