has anyone experienced this before? i have just shot several photos of my
nephew using my 550ex and 300d. I used the felock as a preflash. exposures
looked ok and they showed up on the back screen. Went to download them and
they aren't in my flash card. Fitted card back to camera, took off flash
unit took a few more pictures. keep getting error 02.

Use film.

Hi

Error 02 is flash card error, try to format your card, if that doesn´t
work,
get a new card...

I ran sandisk rescue pro v2.0 and it found the pictures. along with a
shed load of stuff that i had deleted and formatted over several times.
Dating back till may. i have formatted the card in my pc drive now doing
it in the camera. Then running tests. I don't think i'll trust this
particular card with anything considered important.

No doubt alot of film people will be going tsk tsk i told you so.

This is a Canon thing. It happened to me with my original D30. That camera
started giving similar error messages about my IBM Microdrive and refused
to write to the card. When it said it had written there were no pictures
on the Microdrive. There was nothing wrong with the Microdrive, I still
have it and use it in my Nikon D70 without a problem. I also used it for a
long while on the Canon D60.

Have your camera checked out.
