Default Photo restrictions in Ireland

We are planning a trip to Ireland. Does anyone know of any photo
restrictions or maybe some pertinant tips they would like to share?
Please email me along with response to newsgroup.
Thanks,
Russ

Don't expect it to be sunny enough to use the Sunny-16 rule.

LOL!

(BTW, even if you should happen to get it sunny, the Sunny-16 rule doesn't
seem to apply in the uK anyway!)

HaHa.

When I was there a year and a half ago, we had wonderful sunny
days with only a little rain! Actually in multiple trips to
England+Ireland, I've had very few rainy days (May through October).

I don't know of any photo restrictions. I did not have any
problems. I did use a 28-135 IS lens for the first time on
that trip and realized how important image stabilization
is when imaging things like stained glass windows in a dark
church, no tripod, hand held at 1/8 second on Velvia and they
came out really sharp!

The biggest challenge is getting on the airplane with your gear.
Usually a 5kg limit (if I remember right). I was way over,
but in a unassuming backpack which I slung over one shoulder
and tried to make look light.

If you are still planning, check out the Dingle area
and Ring of Kerry. Absolutely spectacular! We flew in
to Cork as it would be too long a drive from Dublin.
Driving is real slow on almost all roads. A lane and a half
is wide for a "two" lane road. When I brought the rental
car back the response was: "What, no damage?"
(I've gotten than in London too!)

Everybody was real nice. Beautiful country and wonderful
people. Funniest thing was asking for iced tea in a pub.
Response: "we don't have iced tea in Ireland, no need!"

Funniest thing I heard before the trip: Don't kiss the Blarney
Stone. The locals get tanked up and pee on it!
