Photoshop RAW plugin
I am trying version 7 of PS on a Mac running 10.3.4, dual 500, lots of
RAM. I want to see how their -Adobe's- plugin works with RAW files from my Digital Rebel, but am not sure on how to go about getting it. Adobe's site is a bit dense, and so am I when it comes to PS, but someday I'll have to bite, and if it's fast enough on this 3 year old machine, I'll get the CS version soon.... I hope. -- John McWilliams |

It's much, much faster then the Canon software and gives much more control. But it sold for $99. Now you can upgrade to PS CS for $149, which not only has a better RAW handling system, but many, many more, new features. Just get the CS upgrade. Jon |

I realized I posted to .marketplace, not .digital where I intended. Since that time, I downloaded the 250 Megs (ca.) file, and am trying out PS v. 8 (aka CS?). The RAW plugin is indeed there, but my learning curve on PS (new to it) has me on the left side of the bell curve. Canon has released a recent application called File Viewer Utility for the Mac, at least, which is a better interface, but slow as molasses on this ole Mac. It's more intuitive to me than is PS. One thing I like particularly about the canon software is that it's easy to set white balance by selecting a white object in the image and setting off of that. Probably PS has a dozen ways to do that, just haven't been with it long enough. -- John McWilliams |
