Glass cleaner spot removed
Finally we were able to remove the dye-spot from photo. The work was
more difficult than we thought, because the corner interested on dye spot was stuck to the glass. This maybe because the presence in the glass cleaner of butylglycol, a high boiling component, that remains instead of evaporate. Butylglycol, probably, reacted with cellulose to obtain a sticky substance. Trying to remove the photo meant damage it, so we left for severeal hours a little flow of water just on the interested corner. At the end (20 or more hours) dye dissolved completely and now we are waiting the photo is dry to remount it. Believe in me, the work was VERY more difficult than described here. But now all seems right. Greetings and thanks from piterengel |
