Default [SI] comments on food

I'm a little late, but I wasn't going to comment at all this time because my
monitor didn't allow me to see the photos properly.

I have now fixed it up so here goes!

As usual, take these comments with a grain of salt!

-------------

Tim Conway 1 - Looks delicious but I think the steam interfered with the
shot.

Tim Conway 2 - There are weird bars of light across this image making it look
odd.

Tim Conway 3 - Chicken looks good but the exposure is a little too contrasting.

Savageduck 1 - Label is nice and bright but the composition does little for me.

Savageduck 2 - Nice colors in this food display shot. Like the salmon.

Savageduck 3 - That must be the fish you just bought! Looks good but what is the
bright spot at the top of the plate?

Chemiker 1 - Nice creative lighting shot.

Chemiker 3 - The background distracts from the 2 objects, the proportions
look wrong, and it's too busy a scene.

FrankEss 1 - No real subject to focus on here... just an obscured bud.

FrankEss 2 - Veggs don't stand out well from the background... should re-shoot a
bit closer.

FrankEss 3 - Interesting, you close-cropped for a reason I guess.

Alan Browne 1 - Frying onions in a heavy skillet, I can smell the steak coming
up! (Gotta get invited for dinner!) Nice sense of motion, exclusive lighting.

Alan Browne 2 - Nice range of focus, lots of interest, nice target on shell.

Alan Browne 3 - There's pork on your fork... nice texture, very realistic. Hope
you didn't melt your lens!

KurtP 1 - Nice composition idea but it's not all in focus.

KurtP 2 - This is nice, a study in green! Very relaxing and crunchy too!

KurtP 3 - Nice composition but the out of focus sides are distracting.

Dan_Petre 1 - Remind me of a motel in Sherbrooke - no dining room!

MG 1 - Nice lighting from the candle, perfect exposure.

Chemiker 2 - Interesting, weird idea, nice colors, nice photo.

Otter 1 - A theme with a much wider view, kind of a disorderly, dark, and blurry
photo. I definitely wouldn't eat that!

Bob Flint 1 - Kind of flat, I should have used another angle and got specular
off the fork.

Bob Flint 2 - I screwed this up post production, also that lower shadow comes
from using a huge wide angle lens with a tiny pop up flash. Should have re-shot
with my SB-700 flash.

Bob Flint 3 - This wasn't too bad for exposure but I should have arranged it
better.

Cooper 1 - Looks like street people, I wouldn't eat that corn!

Cooper 2 - Bar BQ corn roast? He looks like he's going to eat you next!

Cooper 3 - Nice texture photo, one thing I know about squirrels, they love corn!

Martha Coe 1 - Kind of a flat photo, no specific subject. Would be nicer if much
bigger field of view, or zoomed in on one thing.

peter newman 1 - Almost fails the mandate, no real food subject, just a dark
dirty window.

peter newman 2 - Again no real food, not much interest for me.

peter newman 3 - A nice frosty glass, but needs a far better background.

Otter 2 - More of a wide theme photo, the food is secondary to the main event.

Otter 3 - I like this "street scene" even though it's indoors. Reminds me of
some places in Montreal. And that's my fav. pizza!

Thanks for your interest in the SI, see you next month!
