I can't believe what they feed us!

They obviously raised up the land by at least 4 stops in order to show detail and equalized the image in the "after" shot. But it was a misrepresentation. Problem is, doing that makes horrific noise visible. A scene in a wood where some trees are in sun and there are other areas in shade, can be 9-10 stops different. I don't care how many stops of DR you have, underexposed is underexposed and when you try to fix it, you cannot avoid the ugly noise in the dark areas. Better to let it stay dark or blow the highlights. no |
