They are not exiting the camera business, just changing corporate
structure. I guess they most likely know what they are doing.

My guess is that this measure will reduce their costs, but at the same
time make them a bit less innovative.

I don't think Panasonic has to prove anything in the video market...
The pros in that market have been using their gear for longer than any
other.

The cleanup will mainly be in the DSLR area. That market is going to
shrink to a fraction of its current size.
