It's not necessarily a bug (or at least not a serious bug) for an app to
not update its own time reference - see my other post.

it is a bug, although minor and easily resolved.

What part of 'at least not a serious bug' flew so high over your head
that you had absolutely to rebutt that.

you said 'it's not necessarily a bug'. that is incorrect. it *is* a bug.

Then I qualified it rather than edit it out which was an option to pass
the nospam obsessive filter. But I left it. Like a conversation.

This is why you're so popular nospam. You can't relate to a posting as
if it's polite conversation. You rubutt the slightest inconsistency as
if it matters when it doesn't. Learn to grow your grey zone.

whenever an app displays incorrect data, regardless of what that data
is, it's a bug.

we do agree that the bug is minor, so no rebuttal there.

It's not a serious bug nor one that occurs often.

actually, it's fairly common.

The bug in question only occurs 2 times per year in the app in question.

Yep, loyal to the ideas of the founding fathers of the US - that
government is accountable to the people and that requires transparency.

Davoud:
The founding fathers were more concerned with preserving government by
the privileged landed gentry and guarding their own right to own slaves
than with some dubious notion of transparency. In the western
democracies the people of whom you speak have jointly enacted laws in
which they declared that access to secret intelligence is a privilege,
not a right.

Don't deflect. What Snowden did was reveal government run amok.
Period. Nothing else.

That's the most ridiculous thing I ever read, even from one who has no
concept of what happens inside the U.S. intelligence community or of
the laws that govern the activities of the various agencies that
comprise the community. That is as it should be.

This is the thick veneer of bull**** that cloaks people in said
community from responsibility. Precisely what Snowden tried to signal
up the chain and was rebuffed.

When a government agency uses its own policies to hide its illegal
activities then it is bull****. That is what Snowden revealed.

It is NOT as it should be because 'it' has gone beyond it remit.

nope. the bug in question also occurs whenever the time zone changes,
such as flying across country. just as with dst, a quit/relaunch is
required to fix it.

the point is that time related bugs are *very* common and not limited
to just that one app or just dst.
