Batteries

Man. My camera Canon A2000 goes through AA batteries like a dull knife goes through cheese. So yesterday, I purchased 4 rechargeable duracell batteries with a charger. Now, the question is: will these batts hold a charge longer than the other non rechargeable batts? I hope so. We had several AA powered cameras in the collection. The theory of using AA batteries is great but the size and energy density makes them problematic. The best option for AA batteries is to use them to charge a Li-Ion battery! I really like the fact that more P&S cameras are allowing you to charge the battery inside the camera. My old Canon G2 had that capability but it largely disappeared for several years. We have two Samsungs that charge via a Micro-USB connector, the Samsung ST150F. I replaced some Canon A series P&S with the ST150F for the spousal-unit and daughter-unit. Miss the optical viewfinder though. Also miss running CHDK, especially since I contributed to that effort but CHDK seems to be lagging with versions for newer models. |
