Yup, I know who they were and where. Some from NZ, even. Ah well, wonders will never cease. Why is it that "instant cameras" and other crap of the film days was so popular? Because the folks who take photos with them - and now with digital phones - don't give a toss about quality: they just want their cat or dog or kids at the right moment. Nothing wrong with that, BTW! |

Many of today's smartphones are capable of rather better quality than Instamatic cameras. Whether the users choose to take advantage of that is another matter. The 2 Mpix display has largely taken the place of the print, though. -- Cheers, David Web: http://www.satsignal.eu |

Many of today's smartphones are capable of rather better quality than Instamatic cameras. all of them are better quality than instamatic cameras, except stuff such as the noname dirt cheap crap phones with vga quality sensors. plus, smartphones do things not possible with instamatic cameras, including hdr, panoramas, live photos, portrait mode and 4k video. Whether the users choose to take advantage of that is another matter. no need to choose. it's better quality unless they intentionally make the image ****ty, such as using an instagram filter to give it the look of an instamatic camera, and for some reason, that's very popular. The 2 Mpix display has largely taken the place of the print, though. smartphones and tablets have taken its place, regardless of how many pixels there might be, and it's much better quality than a print. |
