I agree. If Nikon is going to develop a true mirrorless system it

I guess they are hesitating because a good mirrorless system would
compete with and cannibalise their DSLR offering. Canon have the same
problem.

there isn't any problem. better to cannibalize one's own products than
end up with a competitor doing it.

True, but I don't know if I'd necessarily classify it as "cannibalizing"
their own products. Some users may want to move from their Nikon DSLR
system to a mirrorless system rather than upgrade to a new Nikon DSLR.
If Nikon offered a good mirrorless system, they kept that user in their
camp rather than losing him/her to another brand.

What do you mean? A new mount with a "built in" f-mount? How is it built in?

The only reason to ditch the f-mount is to get a short flange distance for a
smaller camera. And that's an ok reason, if it comes with a fully functional
adapter for f-mount I suppose.

I said, very clearly and above: "its own mount and an inbuilt adapter".
As in: don't force me to buy one!

How can you transform that into "a new mount with a built in f-mount is
beyond me. Are you sure English is your primary language?

To which I replied, clearly:

No "transofmration" required. I clearly asked what you meant, and the part you
quoted here was clearly followed by a question mark, to signify that I was
asking you whether or not this was what you meant.

Are you sure English is your primary language?

It isn't, actually, but that doesn't seem to be the problem here though. You
have still not answered the question what a "inbuilt adapter" is.

I would give Sandman one up on you with this one. The normal meaning of
inbuilt is that a function is integrated in a larger structu
