Is it to late for Bosque Apache

Got some time off next week was thinking about going to Bosque, never been
there so was wondering if it to late in the season and where I might stay,
and what to expect. any advice appreciated.

There will be something to photograph even if the Cranes and White geese are
starting to leave.

Got some time off next week was thinking about going to Bosque, never been

On the "Friends" site you can see the bird counts, looks like about 80% of the
cranes have left and about 50% of the light geese, compared to earlier in the
winter. Still worth going though, I'd say ... I've done well there for other
stuff as late as early April. I'd also try to swing by White Sands for a day
on the drive up or down.

and where I might stay

You can camp near the entrance at the RV park, or you can stay in Socorro,
which is a few miles north of the refuge. There are several chains there like
Holiday Inn Express, Super 8, Days Inn or Motel 6 and also about a dozen older
independent hotels. Rooms range fro about $30 up to around $80 at the Holiday
Inn.
