Kodak DX 7440
My Kodak DX 7440 uses SD up to 512 MB. Does anyone know (the manual doesn't say) if it can use a 1GB card, or how I can find out if it does?
Thanks in advance. |

Not really! Many cameras manufacturers stop at 512 in their charts, probably because the charts have not changed since the time 512 cards were the normal maximum size. And a question may be referred to some know nothing. My Nikon similarly implied a 256 card was maximum but that isn't true. Best bet is to just stick a 1 GB card in and try it. |

See the Kodak EASYSHARE DX7440 Zoom Digital Camera Accessories page, http://www.kodak.com/eknec/PageQueri...q-locale=en_US, it lists 2 different 1GB cards. New porducts are coming out faster than the user manuals can be updated. cb3c wrote: My Kodak DX 7440 uses SD up to 512 MB. Actually by clicking on a few links from the page mentioned you wind up
he http://www.kodak.com/eknec/PageQueri...q-locale=en_US which points to yes (a 1GB should work fine.) -- "The human adventure is just beginning" "Philippe" wrote in message news:mrZIg.20289$Ch.5596@clgrps13... cb3c wrote: My Kodak DX 7440 uses SD up to 512 MB. Yours is to go out and buy a 1 GB card ($50 on up, depending on brand/quality) and hope for the best.. That about sum it up? P. Well, some people have friends who might have 1GB cards they could try. Or a dealer might have one they would let him try in order to make a sale. And with 1GB SD cards going for under $20 locally, it isn't a large investment. Now, the other question is, why? I have a DX6440 (about the same as the 7440), and it will put 306 pictures on a 256 meg card. Makes one wonder at the rationale of buying a card that will have over 1200 pictures.... |

My point is that a quick answer that confirms that 512 is the maximum may not be correct. If you can get a response from someone that actually has used a 1GB card, that would be fine. I didn't suggest buying a 1 GB; there are ways of trying one without cost. You can go to Costco buy the card, try it, and if it doesn't work return it to Costco for a refund. |
