Default gimp 2.4, what an improvement!

Hello,

Just wanted to mention that I installed Gimp 2.4 yesterday and played
around it a bit. It is a wonderful experience over the previous one. The
selections are now resizable and it has red eye reduction function to
mention the most basic ones which were lacking earlier. So if I wanted
to crop an image with a particular aspect raion, I had to select the
area multiple times to get it right. And didn't have any straight
forward method to reduce red eyes. Both are a breeze now.

Kudos to the developers!

Does it print well also?
My OS is Linux and Gimp-print-4.2.7 doesn't seem like working with the
new version.
I had to go back to Gimp-2.2.15

Does it still throw up multiple, independent windows all over the screen?

Yes.
There's a "windows deweirdifier" plugin if you want it to
all be confined in one window.
OTOH, having separate windows has advantages once you get
used to it - especially if you're working with two monitors.

Yes, I was just going to mention that two monitors situation. I wasn't
aware of the deweirdifier plugin though.

thanks,

Or, if you have several desktops in use.

I thought about that, but windows on other desktops are not visible so
not sure how useful that can be.

Did anyone ever write a module so it will print under XP?

Independent windows make more sense to me than one big window with
everything in it. There is total liberty as to where you want to place
things on a screen. Just my opinion though.
