Ed,
Yes it is but I actually use Copernic Pro which is a meta search engine and it gave me thousands of hits. I thought asking here, of those that are knowledgeable about the subject, would lead to some correct information. Much of what turned up when I did a search was opinion and information from unknown sources. Not saying the information wasn't correct - just that I had no way of knowing if it was or not. I simply asked for someone to help sort the wheat out from the chaff. I also think that anyone that hangs around this newsgroup has the smarts to know enough to do a search first - then ask a question. Thanks for your suggestion though, Bob S. "ed" wrote in message ... "BobS" wrote in message .. . Thanks guy's - that was quick and spot on too. Looks like I'm in for some interesting reading. Bob S. Google is your friend. That's one of the reasons why these guys know so much! |

If you Google 'histogram' you get 869,000 hits. Which of those 869,000 are good ones? The OP could have gone to google and just entered his question directly, or just abbreviated forms. This isn't rocket science: www.google.com: histogram tutorial for digital camera; 35,300 hits The first hit looks relevant to me. As a general rule, for photography related googling, add "sitehoto.net" to all queries. Their archives are much more relevant and usually contain pointers to the Usual Suspects for a particular area. (In this case, the articles at Luminous Landscape.) That's why asking on a NG is sometimes a better idea, he got 2 or 3 sites that explain histograms well for digital camera users USENET is good to gather the experience of others, odd, esoteric details and just straight blather. As a Q&A service, however, it has huge latency. Do you want questions answered in hours or days, or seconds? Sometimes you have to pay the price, but almost always you don't. Learning how to use google is a Good Thing. |

I have Copernic installed but for the last few months I have not used it
much. Google is faster and as complete....it really is amazing. "BobS" wrote in message ... Kinda like lenses - one for each purpose. Copernic Agent Pro can zero in a
bit better in my opinion and I set all the search criteria on one screen whereas you have to jump around a bit with Google. No arguement, Google is good (many investors will agree with us) I've just used Copernic since it came out and am comfortable with it. Bob S.
