2 Scanners To One Computer
Bart van der Wolf wrote:
Because Microsoft advices against 2 USB scanners when running on XP? Well, I have a Minolta Slide Scanner and an Epson 1240 flatbed scanner that have been running on XP for over 2 years. they each have their own TWAIN interface and have never given me problems. Never heard of Microsoft advising against it. Rosita |

http://support.microsoft.com/default...b;en-us;324756 The gist of that is "This behavior occurs because the Usbscan.sys driver cannot be used simultaneously by more than one scanner." And that must be a stupid bug on the part of whoever wrote the driver. If they had designed it as a single-device driver, they would have provided better locking and a more meaningful message when you connected a second scanner. Since that doesn't happen, it's just an oversight. Who knows when it will be fixed, though. Dave |
