And the conclusion is that when it comes to autofocus zoom lenses, I don't have much of a
clue.

I almost never use autofocus and most of my lenses are primes. Yesterday, I found all the
beeping and chugging somewhat annoying.

Need more practice. And patience.

Nice photos, and they appear in focus, but not necessarily focused on
the subject you intended. Where did you have that set?

There was a bunch of little squares in the middle and I don't know what their
criteria is
for selecting what to focus on. It seemed random.

it's not.

it depends on what focus mode you chose.

I actually quite like the result. I just have to pretend that the focussing
was intended
that way :-)

There is a manual for that little gadget of yours... Have you tried to
read it? Oki, it's summer and the cam is new but do some reading up for
the Giro! ;-)

If there were a manual, I would surely have had a browse. But to save money,
there is no
manual, not even a CD. I will have to go to their web site and download a
PDF, I suppose.

You suppose correct.

This link costed me 23 seconds of my life that I'll never get back! :-ppp

Soo... would you be kind and in return tell the class how you managed to
save money getting the cam without manual and software?
