Nicely done. There seems to be some CA,m that is not consistent with the
corona.

Yea, I have to work on that. The CA was not in the original.
It is two RAW images combined (one caught the top and was pasted onto
the other), and each of those was layered from two adjustments.

It's the first I really worked with these RAW images and it is really
amazing what is possible.

I adjusted first to show the corona better, then to show the red flares
better. Something got lost somewhere and the CA appeared.

I'll post back when it's improved.

Could possibly be removed in post. Care to share some lens info?

No photo or video can come close to capturing the moment. I get choked
up every time I think about it.

I recorded a video just for the sounds of the people witnessing it.

That's the closest I could come to showing what it was like.

Here it is on Youtube:

Thanks for that. Agreed on the emotional impact - they really are quite
special events.

Nice, I remmeber experiencing one in london 1998 and/or 1999 IIRC the erieness wasn't from humans it's the way even the birds went quiet and that was in london.

1999. We only had totality in the south of Cornwall, I made the 400 mile
round trip. You could just see some of the partial stage through the
clouds, but for totality thick cloud came over and you just got the dip
in light level (and the stripy shadows). As you say, all the song-birds
were affected.

Nice pic from OP BTW and the video catches the atmosphere too.
