Default "Super Zoom" Wars Over?

The widest-zoom (83x) digicam (Nikon "Coolpix P900") was introduced
during 2015. Does the fact that no higher-zoom camera has come out,
since then, mean that the "super zoom" wars have finally ended?

That's nonsensical. There was no "war." If there had been a war that
would still be nonsensical.

call it whatever you want, but there were a number of cameras trying to
outdo each other with having the longest zoom range.

The "warriors" most of whom rarely use any camera, have found other
topics to war over.

I think fixed lens cameras with longer reach could well happen, and
prove popular. But not until the rest of the camera catches up with
wider apertures/better sensors and more effective stabilisation without
a tripod.

Now instead of raising the zoom factor, they just raise the price. The
latest Sony superzoom is around $1500.00. For a 1" sensor.

Those cameras ain't toys. The are intended for professional use by PIs,
PJs, other journalists and stringers to the intelligence community.

Because fewer cameras are being sold.
