Need advice for "pull" processing

The lens barrel has no threads so any sort of filter would have to be cut to size and glued or otherwise affixed to the barrel. Such a filter couldn't be much larger than the barrel otherwise it would interfere with the lens swinging side to side. Cokin or Lee filters might work just held out in front of the lens barrel. |

Does anyone make neutral density gel filters? You can get them through Edmond Scientific Optical division. -- LF Website @ http://members.verizon.net/~gregoryblank "To announce that there must be no criticism of the President, or that we are to stand by the President, right or wrong, is not only unpatriotic and servile, but is morally treasonable to the American public."--Theodore Roosevelt, May 7, 1918 |

Need advice for "pull" processing

... Thanks for the advice, Bill. I know slide film isn't the best choice, and yes, I'm planning on taking color print film as well. I was just thinking some color slide film shot in panorama on 120 could be pretty cool. Unfortunately, the Kodak Panoram #1 doesn't have any way to accept filters of any sort that I can see. The best a person could do would be maybe to get a cheap Cokin filter and cut it to size. Sounds like a lot of work for something that may or may not be suitable. Will something like a Lee Gel-snap holder fit? That's a good way to fit filters to a lot of older 'non-filter-accepting' lenses. For wide lenses with short mounts you may need to use a narrower rubber band than the standard one that comes with the Gel-snap. That's why I was wondering specifically about pulling, because I probably won't be able to do any manipulation in the field (which is Antarctica, BTW). You lucky dog... Actually, if you use the Gel-snap there, I'd take along a few spare rubber bands, in case the cold makes them brittle and you break some. Peter |
