used equipment - ebay or sell to b&h?

I want to sell a mamiya 645 super film back. The average price fetched from
ebay in completed auction is $100.

At B&H, similar condition used item sell for $279. If I sell mine to b&h,
would they give me half (i.e. $139.50)?

Call them up. They may be dropping prices soon - I went in yesterday
and bought a Lumedyne AC module and was talking to the salesman about
KEH. They apparently are aware of their somewhat unrealistic used
pricing and should be adjusting soon.

Or maybe not.

KEH's online quote gave me $67. Looks like they are selling used equipments
at 2.5x the price they pay. Not a bad profit margin.

Typically, KEH appears to profit fairly well, if they did not, they could
not offer you what they and nobody else can - for example, KEH is THE
standard for grading used equipment. Ebay sellers usually misrepresent,
overappraise what they are selling, not though malice, but simple ignorance.
KEH is highly conservative in their grading - what you and I might consider
80%, they might see as 50%, so you get good stuff. KEH will also let you
send something back if it's not to your satisfaction. In fact, there are a
couple cases where KEH sent a replacement to a buyer before they received
the original hardware back.

But I am sure KEH eats some losses by not reselling some things they buy.
They will never sell junk.

Exactly. Everything I buy there is "Bargain" grade. Yeah right - it's
much better than Bargain. I just got "Bargain" Leica Minilux for
$250. I think there were a couple of finish scratches on the bottom.
"Bargain" Hassy kits are going for $500. A few weeks ago, they had
RB67 Pro-S kits under $400.

Whose unrealistic pricing, B&H or KEH? Frankly, I wouldn't buy anything
used from B&H--been burned twice going that route already.

Actually they will, but it IS fairly labled as such.

Check some of the descriptions in their "AS IS" section ...
"inoperative", "broken", "shattered", "impact damage" (a $29.00 Nikon 2x
TC-200 rated "excellent" otherwise).
