Default Calibrating a CRT using a dSLR

See subject.

Just had this idea from reading the "D70 histogram"-thread.

Is it possible?

Could I set my camera white balance to "shade", and then compare RGB values
for neutral grey on screen to get an idea of how well-calibrated my screen
is? Do it multiple times, and adjust my screen?
