Default Photoshop question

Is there a very simple way to make a picture fade out so you don't have a
sharp egde where the picture ends?
It could be e.g. 10mm from the edge of the frame where the fading begins.

Selection with large feather. Cut to own layer, delete background.

But there's a PS forum just down the road.....

Comp.graphics.apps.photoshop.
