HELP: uncorrupt .jpg/.jpeg files

I just came back from a trip and am currently uploading my photos taken on a
digital camera. I was using a fairly old (but perfectly great) Canon
Powershot SD450 and a SanDisk 512MB memory card for storage. When I finished
uploading pics, I noticed that a good portion of the photos were "missing".

I ran a file recovery program, CardRescue, and found that 40+ photos were
corrupted and, therefore, were not being uploaded into iPhoto (I have a
MacBook Air). I extracted the files and saw that the sizes of the
corrupted/damaged range from 2-6MB, so there is data...

After trying out a few more .jpg recovery programs, I'm still at a loss. All
programs have yielded no results. Any idea what I can do to rescue or
uncorrupt these photos?

This is probably not fixable. Throw the card away. Replace it with a
fast card of at least 16GB capacity. Get a new camera, preferably a
Canon or Nikon, one that supports RAW format, and stop using JPEG. Dump
the obsolete iPhoto and get Lightroom or another professional
indexing/storage/editing app.

This is predicated on the assumption that your photos are important to
you. If they are not, then ignore the above advice.
