Default Color differences in photos taken same day, same areas. Question ???

I took several photos in the Valley of Fire, located about an hours
drive from Las Vegas, NV. The weather was very overcast.
Some of the photos show the vivid reds and oranges of the sandstone,
yet in others, they seem to have a blue tinge to them.
The flash was on for all the photos. Distances from the objects and
camera angle, direction are the only variations. Anyone have any idea
as to how to correct them in the field, or in the digital darkroom?
Camera is an Olympus Sylus 400.

Nothing was done to the images prior to posting. I'll research the
white balance item. Thanks for the reply.

Don't use automatic white balance.

or in the digital darkroom?

What editor do you use? You need to reset the color balance.
