And do you know if the 1.1.4 firmware can handle the new 4GB 150x SD cards?

Apparently the original SD specs are formally limited to 2GB. The
Canon models 1D Mark II (N) and 1Ds Mark II will need a firmware
upgrade, yet to be released by Canon.

In fact it is only safe to assume it would work for camers released
since roughly August 2006.
