Adorama

now also has the Leica M9/M9-P discounts (up to $1000
depending on the model) on their website. You have to add the camera
to your cart in order to see the discounted price.

Buy now to avoid disappointment. When it's gone, it's gone. Etc..

The reason for the discounting is that the new M10 will be announced
on September 15, 2012, the day before Photokina opens.

So now I must rush to spend $7000 I can't afford, instead of $8000.
Certainly a lust worthy camera, but one this retired old fart cannot
justify buying.

No rush, it's last year's model. ;-)

Right, it will be even cheaper once the M10 comes out, or pick up a S/H one
really cheap in a few years when it's well and truly obsolete! :-)
I seriously doubt they will hold value like their film camera's.

Trevor.

The body price is just one thing. The lenses all cost thousands,
especially if you want to be competitive with fast lenses from other
brands.

Right, but we're talking about the camera model, not the lens system.

Trevor.
