According to this chart (in French):

http://minilien.com/?NHHAJ44v48

2 033 000 new cameras were sold in France in the first 6 months of 2004,
of which:

- 1 771 000 were difgital cameras (+71% in 1 year)
- 262 000 were film (-51%)
- 214 (yes, 214) were MF (-33%).

i started to use MF just a couple of months, and was thinking about digital,
if and only if the film is stop production, i think the digital back for MF
will be affortable for amature while.
just keep going, film is more concert indeed.

Will be affordable..? Maybe.., but will still look digital. The
problem for me is that digital always looks digital, even digital
backs they look very digital. I don't like the look (tonality), so
I'll keep shooting film along side with digital.

It says 1 737 000 point and shoot (+69%) and 34 000 reflex (+386%!)
For 35mm film cameras, 262 000 P&S (-51%) and 29 000 reflex (-52%).

The stories I heard were all the same. Digital is in and film is out.

You know it's not true. If you want instant gratification, go Digital,
otherwise follow your own information and go MF.

Here's a little math - If I were to sell all my Hasselblad gear I could just
afford a top-of-the-line full-frame "35mm" digital camera which is less
reliable (more susceptible to moisture problems, failure due to rough
handling, and just plain bugs) than MF. That excludes a very good PC,
Photoshop, printer, disc farm, all that. Then I'd be in the pits in just a
few years. If that's the decision one wants to make, then go there and be
happy - or not.

The amazing bit is that it ("digital is in and film is out") still is true.
Very much so.

There may be very sound, rational grounds why it shouldn't be, but where is
it written that we are rational beings?
So digital is in, film is out.

Hey John whats interesting is.

Just had a "new" real estate agent- client tell me they don't want
digital capture for their head shots and promo materials
because it won't give them the quality they want,...
sounds like someone screwed them over on it all ready.
