Default Fujifilm FinePix S9600

Hi,

I would appreciate any advice, I have recently purchased a Fujifilm FinePix
S9600, the problem I have is that if I take any movie clips using this
camera, and then play them back on the PC they are jumpy and jerky, however
the image quality of the clips are excellent, apart from the problems,
however if I play these clips on the camera they are ok.

Even if I burn the clips onto a CD, and try and play them on a DVD player,
these clips still won't play.

I used to have a Sony Cyber-shot DSC, and could play any clips taken on this
camera, on the PC without any problem.

The PC is running Windows XP home, has a 2.01 Ghz processor, with 448 RAM.

Any help with the above would be greatly appreciated.

Regards,

I have used several Fujis to create videos without problem (S6500, F30,
S602).
If your PC has several programs running it might provide "jerky"
playback. Make sure you do not have many programs running in the
background (like anti-virus, etc). A badly fragmented or very full drive
will also work slowly.
You cannot simply burn an avi file to a cd and have it play in a DVD
player (there are a few exceptions that will play computer format files
like rm, avi, etc).
What you need to do is use some software to create a VCD. A certain
directory structure is necessary for the DVD player to understand what
to do with the file. For a VCD you need an MPEG1 file as well. Some
software may be able to convert AND burn. I think Nero has this option.
Do not simply create a Data CD. Look for a VCD option.
Similarly you need an MPEG2 file AND burner software that create a Video
DVD (not a data DVD).
I have used VCDEasy (there is a early freeware version available) to
create a VCD after converting with avi2vcd. Works very well.
